Join the home stay program because it will enable you to experience the real life styles of the village folks in a Bidayuh longhouse. Macheree homestay arrange various activities that will keep you occupied the whole day of your stay. Below are activities that we can arrange during your stay with us for you.
Guided Outdoor Activities:
Jungle Trekking, Tropical Rainforest Exploration

Go for jungle trekking in order to see the beauty of our tropical rainforest and few stunning waterfalls. Our experienced & skillful jungle expert's guidance will bring you to see the flora & fauna. Identify the herbs & its usage in natural healing. Enjoy the calm feelings in the jungle & etc.
Swimming at the untouched natural 3-tier Waterfall

Our guide will bring you to this wonderful place for you to enjoy the beauty of nature, just lie down & relax, swim, or you can even try a waterfall massage. The water is cold & crystal clear, & you will just love it.
Soaking in the natural hot spring (The jungle spa)

We are lucky enough to have a hot spring nearby at our longhouse. It is located in the middle of the jungle, & you can soak into it while enjoying the beauty of the jungle. You will need a short jungle trekking through a few gardens, farms, hills and also Bamboo Bridge to reach this natural spa.
Bamboo Rafting

Learn how to build a bamboo raft and go for spear fishing or casting with it. Our guide will show you how to build the raft with Bamboos found in the jungle & also the essential rafting techniques too before you will do the rafting.
Hunting with the Blowgun Demonstration
You will learn how to hunt with the real blowgun in the jungle. Due to fact that we do not encourage to kill the wildlife in the jungle, our darts are not poisonous & sharpened. The dart will definitely hit the animal if you are skillful enough, but it will not kill or injure them in anyway.
Processing Sugars

Choose to spend your one day stay crushing sugarcane using our traditional homemade sugarcane crusher and cook it to get sugar.
Rubber Tapping
Wake up early morning and go to rubber farm to tape rubber tree
and process its milk into a scrap rubber.
Rice Harvesting
During the month of February to April, it's our paddy field harvesting season. You can join our fellow villagers for the rice harvesting at the hilly land.
Guided Indoor Activities:
Longhouse Tour and Exploration

We can guide you along & explain to you everything about our longhouse. This guided tour can be conducted anytime when you are free from any activities (usually on the first day stay before dinner). You will be invited to visit other families too in the same village for culture’s exchange.
Cooking Rice, Meat and Fish in Bamboo
|
|
Cooking food sand boiling water in bamboo is the Bidayuh traditional way of cooking. A demonstration of this activity will be carried out in the evening to prepare your dinner. This is our signature dish for the dinner. You will be served together with other sumptuous dishes too. In case you prefer not to cook your food in bamboo, you may request to cook your food in pans and pots.
Traditional Culture Show

Join our traditional dance for your night entertainment and learn to play our traditional musical instrument. We arranged the Traditional Culture show at night after dinner (usually on your first day of your stay). The show comprises of two groups of female and male dancers accompanied by three members of musicians. The female dancers perform two dancers and the male perform the warrior’s dance. All the dancers dressed themselves with the Bidayuh Traditional Costumes.
At times of feeling "heated" by the dancer (or by our rice wine), do not hesitate to dress up yourself with the traditional costume & start dancing till you drop.
Playing the Traditional Bidayuh Musical Instruments

Learn the basic of playing any of
our musical instruments. Our musician will always ready to teach
you. We will teach you how to play our traditional musical
instruments. It's fun & entertaining, not just yourself, but
other will be entertained by you too. You also can try blow
darts using our blowpipe and set up for a competition among all
of you. The most accurate one will be given prize.
Honestly, you have no time to get yourself bored during your
stay here will be fully occupied with a lot of guided tours and
activities. Our guide/guides are well-trained & experience in
bringing guests into the surrounding jungle to enjoy the beauty
of nature. They are committed to make sure that you are having
fun out there, & have forgotten about everything else unless you
prefer just to stay with us without any outdoor activities. This
one is another optional package you can ask for your holidays in
annah rais longhouse. We hope that you will enjoy your stay with

activities are subject to weather condition; hence we reserve
the right to change the itinerary if deemed necessary. Our
